Part
1 - PDI (potential driving
instructor) - After consultation with your trainer,
you can get started on Part 1. Work at home - study
video clips, practice theory test questions and hazard
perception clips to attain a high score. |
| Part
2 - This training is structured
towards developing existing driving skills to reach a
much higher advanced level. This involves: |
| Good forward planning
skills (anticipating danger and reacting early and correctly) |
| Applying the MSMPSL
routine correctly approaching hazards |
| Demonstrating a high
degree of awareness on all types of road (including motorways)
|
| Good control, perception,
and observation and accuracy skills on all reverse exercises
and emergency stop procedure. |
| Part
3 - Is a structured program tailored
towards building confidence for all the required elements
in the last section: |
| Your trainer
will demonstrate how to set an objective and brief a pupil
on a new task, talk the pupil through that situation,
encourage them, and then allow the pupil to practice without
prompting. |
| You will learn how
to identify a fault, analyse why it occured, and offer
a suitable remedy to your pupil (this must be given to
the pupil as soon as possible) |
| After using Question
and Answer techniques, the pupil must be allowed some
practice time to prevent the fault recurring. |
| If the three core
competencies (ID, Analysis and Remedy) are adhered to,
the Part 3 test will have some structure and logic to
it. |
| Your instructor will
"role play" the pupil on training lessons very
similar to the way the examiner does on the part 3 test. |
| In addition to your
ability to teach pupils, you should provide a service
to people from different backgrounds and have good business
sense. As a fully qualified ADI you will be expected to
show a high regard for all aspects of road safety, a responsible
and professional attitude to your pupils and profession,
and maintain this high standard of driving and instructional
ability throughout you career. |
